It's my one and only day off this week. And by day off I really mean day I can afford to spend not studying or writing. For most of it, at least. Which means I get to spend today packing and deciding what gets shipped home and what goes in storage and everything. Right now, this is infinitely better than anything that involves actual mental processes, because mine are all broken. If you want to see what I've been up to, the image part of my Tolkien project (which, of course, I made infinitely more complicated and time-consuming than it needed to be) is up here. Yaaay image-editing!

So, if you didn't see my away message yesterday - basically I got up at 9:30 and set to work on the project. And fixing the images took longer than I expected. Then I had to scan two more, and the scanner was occupied and I went to get something to eat and the change machine's tray was filled with water, which both amused and disturbed me. Then for some reason I couldn't get the internet to let me send myself the image files after I had them scanned, and by then it was 3:45 and the project was due at five. So I rush-edited one of them and left the other out, then tried to start printing and the printer decided that it hated me and wouldn't print things in colour and failed everyt time, so at 4:30 I e-mailed my professor and gave her my sob story about technology rebelling against me. Luckily she took pity on me and sent me a very nice e-mail back, which cheered me up, and said I could turn it in before 9 this morning. And so I touched everything up and made everything look a bit better and turned it in. Hooray! So, that drama is over for now.

All right... I don't have much else to write about, so I think I'll go organize the stuff in my bedroom. I've still got laundry from a week ago that I haven't put away. I'm so lazy.

By all means today (meaning, technically, yesterday) deserves an entry. I haven't had a whole lot to write about lately, and I am really trying to keep the complaining to a minimum, so... there you have it. Tons of holes in my entries. I'm sure you've missed them so much. The internet has slowed down a great deal in the past two days, so I've been fairly bored. Which is good, because soon this boredom will lead to motivation to actually finish my final projects. They look a lot less daunting now that I'm past my "Happening" today. I just checked chalk for pictures, but alas, there are none yet. I assure you that, if I can find some, I'll share them with you. Because it's not every day that the geekiness at this school overflows into what is almost a class requirement. That asks you to come in costume. I did a lot of complaining about it because I don't like being obligated to do random things like, and I ended up spending most of last night and this morning gathering together random things. I borrowed a friend's skirt, a belt, and my roomie's bedsheet. I used the belt to tie the bedsheet on a bit more like a cloak, and wore it with the skirt and a white shirt. This particular white shirt has come in so randomly handy. I originally bought it whatever year we did Curtain Going Up (junior year, I think) so I could look preppy. So far this year I've needed it for the Neil Gaiman thing, this Tolkien stuff... yeah. Something else, too, that I can't quite remember. Anyway... I looked fairly decent, as far as things are concerned. There were some people with actual costumes, including this guy who was dressed in a very well-made Aragorn costume. His sword was freaking long, though, and it was hard to walk behind him without it tripping you. A bunch of what I assume were UT people performed a play that two of the girls in the class had written which was really, really amusing. Especially the intentionally bad acting. I loved them. And the group of Ringwraiths proved they weren't entirely heartless and evil by making liquid nitrogen ice cream. I love this school sometimes, I seriously do. I mean, they had two coolers of liquid nitrogen. For making ice cream. If that isn't awesome (in a room full of people dressed like elves, hobbits, men, wizards, and ringwraiths, mind you), I don't know what is. Well... there are things not like this are are also awesome, I'm not saying this has exclusive rights to awesome, but still... hehehe. And I haven't even mentioned Gollum yet. Gollum was, well, if you know the people I know you can guess exactly who volunteered to be Gollum. In a towel. He seems to be doing better lately, which makes me happy. I don't like seeing him sad after the mess he's been through this quarter. Darn some people. (I don't know the whole story though, so I shouldn't comment).

I probably skipped out a bit earlier than I should have, but oh well. I got to see the play, and eat the ice cream. Hehe. I was hungry for real food, and felt the strange need to get some work done. Which I didn't, because I basically came back and passed out on the couch (after talking to people for a bit). And that's been my night. And it's 2:15 and it feels nothing like 2:15. I love how backwards my sleep schedule has gotten in just about two days. Darnit.

Oh! And my dream! Full of FMA-crackfulness )
