OK... I am prepared to accept that I am a strange person, provided you can accept it, too. I am probably stranger now than I was before. Or maybe I make it more obvious. I mean... no.. I am certainly stranger than I was before. OK... so maybe strange isn't the word so much as... obsessed unnaturally with video games now... certain... types of characters in certain... RPGs. And now I hear that there is a pre-release of Xenosaga Episode 2 the 15th of March. And it looks beautiful. It looks like they've fixed all those little things that are annoying me slightly about this game (and it also looks like they've solved the problem of the game being "less aesthetically pleasing" than FFX). Dear goodness. I bet the prerelease is in freakin Japanese, though. Gosh-freakin-darnit. (Though I have found sources that say it will be released in the US in 2004 also. Of course, this could mean December. It's only getting a full release in Japan in June. You have no idea how many languages I have read June in at this point.) And Jin Uzuki is a playable character (who is so obviously not Citan at all. Just like the sewer I got chased through while saving MOMO wasn't exactly like a shorter version of the Solaris sewers. And Vanderkam has nothing to do with Vanderkaum. No). Goshdarnit, you only hear him offscreen and her Shion talk about him and already he's awesome. Gosh darn you. Gosh darn you Monolith. I'm going to sit here not doing my homework and look at these trailers a bit more. Lovely. Well.. ok.. mostly just that one bit with the swordfight scene because it's just great.
I mean... who doesn't want to be a guy living alone in a far-off star system who sits around reading books and carries a sword with a strange grin on his face, huh? I, for one, would be more than happy to do just that. In fact, I think that's probably the ideal. And then to leave and fight ROBOTS in SPACE. Freakin' A! Really... anyone who's really bored with a decent internet connection should watch the trailers for the game. So pretty... so awesome. Especially the sword fight. Goshfreakindarnit. There is nothing like freakin' sword fights between characters that are already awesome in the rain in the street, with... oh dear goodness, just watch it, will you? (It makes me want to learn Japanese so badly... the Sick Asian says it's pretty simple, so maybe I'll try. Hehehe). (Who has a freakin' awesome voice in both versions? JIN has a freakin' awesome voice in both versions. And a sword people. A SWORD. ARE YOU NOT LISTENING TO ME?! Swords versus robots and evil guys! GAAAAAAH!!!) Heh, I wish I could find the one other trailer I have, which shows even more of the battle. There's also this one, though. Oh my goodness it is so great to be a geek again. I have so thoroughly missed a good obsession, ya know? I haven't had one in ages. It's such a lovely, lovely outlet for things. Allll I wanted was a sequel to Xenogears. And I get four prequels... and the whole thing is this insane freakin' circle of cross-references and Square had better freakin' give up the rights to XG because not only do they not deserve it, I want to see it remade properly. And I also hear that they're making an anime of the series. That would either be totally great, or... well, I'd see it either way. Unless it causes total pain like the animated LoTR series. CRINGE! I trust the Japanese more than that, though... they know what they're doing with their anime.
[EditEditEdit: Because I am a dork. A dork that has not done her calculus homework, but doesn't care, because tomorrow afternoon is all about Xenosaga... again. Because there is no track practice! Mwahahaha! Mostly just rambled some more, and threw in some links to annoy you with. Hehehe].
