Apparently part of what my brain has been missing is voracious reading. Since Monday I've been tiptoeing my way back through Good Omens on my breaks, because it was the only book in my room that I haven't re-read this summer. And somehow last night I ended up awake until 7 finishing it. So clearly there was some starvation there. I need to do something about this (in my box of books and action figures I have Brave New World, Out of the Silent Planet, and a couple of books for class that I haven't read). Anyone have any good recommendations? I kind of wish I could bring my giant volume of Sherlock Holmes, but alas... it's a giant volume of Sherlock Holmes, and I can't carry it everywhere. So. Books, books, books. Recommend them to me (for great justice). The more books you recommend, the less time I'll have to spend on here complaining more about how Chicago is evil. It's win-win!

P.S. I don't want to go to work.

P.P.S. Chicago is evil.

Lessee... Skullduggery Pleasant, Sea of Trolls, Fly by Night, Crooked Little Vein, I'm starting to plow through China Mieville's books... they're..I like 'em XD, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, the Bartimeus Trilogy is fun (gosh a lot of these are in the children's section)... that's all I can think of in my sleep deprived state without my Giant pile o' books infront of me. ^^;

Let's see... Book of Lost Things was goood, as long as I pretend the epilogue doesn't exist, Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors (I'm a history nut. Sue me.), absolutely ANYTHING by Peter S. Beagle, though his recent book of short stories, The Line Between, is absolutely magnificent, any of the Stainless Steel Rat books, The Book of Jhereg ...though the rest of the series is a slow, downward spiral... ...I think that's enough of me tossing random titles at you.

*HUGS* Soon things will be better.

I think we should get a chinchilla.

Hmm... the only thing chinchillas have going for them, as far as I'm concerned, is that they're really bizarrely soft. But they bathe in dust! Dust! That's an inherent contradiction! (And I think my prejudice against them might have something to do with the ones my friend had, that always bit me. (-;)

Hey, when you get a chance, could you give me a call? I found out more stuff about when I'm moving and some other things, but I have no idea what your hours are and I would feel bad if I called you during the middle of work.

I'll try to call you after work tonight... say around 8ish your time (probably a bit before, since it'll probably be a slowish day). Hopefully that'll be okay. (And for reference, I work from 5 til generally around 9:30, sometimes earlier, though it's supposed to be until 10).

That time is absolutely fine. I'm going to be home all night, so it's all good.
