I think I just changed at least a tenth of my icons... so now when I pick things from my list, I will be surprised again. (I had a hard time choosing my icon for this post... it was a toss-up between this one and this one. But there is a time and a place for everything.) I forget why I was hunting down icons (I think it might have been because I recently picked up what is certain to become a dangerous addiction to Life on Mars. (And it had nothing to do with me adoring John Simm in his recent role in Doctor Who, no.) In case you're looking for an extra TV show to fill a void in your day, I highly recommend it, if you're into shows that are quite interestingly psychological, and British, and, to an untrained eye, cop shows set in the 1970s.) And it amuses me now that you can kind of track the progression of my fandoms by scrolling through my icons.

Er, in more important news, I have a real face-to-face interview with the publishing people tomorrow at 1, which means I have to get up early (!!) and leave here at eleven, because Skokie is freaking far away from me. Buuuut I'm moving to the north side in a month and a half or so anyway, so I could survive the commute for a while. I also survived my bank interview today, which was the most thorough let's-go-through-every-bullet-point-on-your-resume interview ever for an $8/hr job. But oh well. Good practice for tomorrow, I suppose. And hopefully I won't fail the grammar and typing tests they're going to give me. Gah. So, I'm off to put all the icons I just downloaded onto my desktop into a reasonable folder, then I will roam the internets for more distraction.

That icon is adorable. I watched the season finale this morning before work and the Master always cheers me up in this awful, awful way.

Also, you are so going to kick ass on that interview.

He does. It actually makes me want to re-watch the three-parter, even though I really didn't like the end. At all. It's so... Ten when he used to be manic and not quite so emo, with a dash of evil.

Here's hoping. Thanks. ^_^

I didn't really mind the finale so much, but it was kind of... eh at some points. When I re-watched it, I pretty much just jumped to the scenese of the Master dancing and being a bastard, and then the Titanic bit at the end. I'm hoping freaking Donna isn't in the Titanic one because I want to strangle her enough as it is.

By the way, you, me, and Dar need to all be on the phone at some point. I made up the sermon to say over Meatropolis. ...I didn't write it down so I kind of don't remember it all, but that's never stopped me before. :)

I think that's probably what I'll do. The Master redeems a lot of things. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Titanic means that Eccleston will be in it. Because in theory, Nine was on the Titanic. (And don't worry, there's a different temporary companion for the Christmas special).

... Oh dear. (-:

If Eccleston were in it, that would be so awesome. I know my little sister would be happy about that because out of Nine and Ten, Nine is her favorite Doctor. I'm just wondering how that would work because wouldn't the Doctor change appearance in his timelines? Or maybe not. I have no idea since I haven't seen any of the older episodes.

And thank god there's going to be a different person for the Christmas special. ;3;

There are actually a few multi-doctor episodes. The Five Doctors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Five_Doctors) is what comes to mind first, since that's the most obvious one. I'm pretty sure this is going to involve some kind of random RTD retconning, though, saying Nine wasn't on the Titanic. Woes. (Nine is my favourite too, in a lot of ways... he's so fatherly and cool. And by far he had the best season. (-;)

Yeeeah. People are all up in arms, though, because it's a pop star (Kylie Minogue... though I honestly didn't know who she was). Figures, eh?

From: [identity profile] rsiasta.livejournal.com

Yeah, Lauren told me that there were a few of those about, but I think she said they weren't canon. Or else it was they weren't considered canon by the fans. And Nine amuses the hell out of me. I saw the movie 28 Weeks Later before I had seen Doctor Who, so all I can picture Nine as is an evil general that gives the go ahead to rape the wimminz. It just... amuses me to no end.

They're really using a pop store for that episde? Huh. I haven't heard of her before so I'll reserve judgement until I see the episode, but that kind of unnerves me as far as her acting skills go.

From: [identity profile] evilhippo.livejournal.com

Yeah, they probably aren't technically canon... but the idea is fun. (And oh dear. I had the opposite problem when I watched Heroes, because I kept wanting Claude to tell Peter to hop in the TARDIS and they could save New York that way). And my argument for Nine being on the Titantic is that obviously Ten didn't mean to be there, and it's probably got to do with what the did to the TARDIS to seal its coordinates... it's not that he can't cross his own timeline, but that he avoids it because it's bad. This would be completely unintentional, therefore it's possible that Nine is around. ^_^

They are... I'm not too worried because Billie Piper was a pop star too, and everyone seems to forget that. Except I am worried, because clearly RTD has been making a lot of bad decisions lately. But I'm trying not to be worried. (-;

Hoorah for interviews! You'll do fine with grammar and typing. ...unless they want really obscure comma rules, lay and lie (I don't know about you, but I FAIL at lay and lie), and 300 words a minute.

From: [identity profile] evilhippo.livejournal.com

Man, commas and I do not get along sometimes. I technically know how they're supposed to be used... I'm just so used to ignoring the rules that it doesn't occur to me most of the time that there are definitely times I should remember them. Like in my BA. That needed a lot of comma work. And I've got no clue on lay and lie either, except I'm pretty sure it's "You should lie down" and "It's lying on the table" but... I'm sure if it wasn't late I'd be able to come up with plausible examples for lay.

Interviews, yay! And I have to agree with other people and say that I think you'll do a good job with the grammar tests and such.

A WINNER IS YOU! *thumbs up* :D

From: [identity profile] evilhippo.livejournal.com

::thumbs up:: Thanks. (-: I think as long as I don't let myself get too nervous, I'll be fine. Nervousness plus typing tests = bad. Plus it's Friday the 13th. I've heard those aren't good. (-;
