Well, I did actually finish my Hum paper. A full hour before it was due, even. And I think it wasn't nearly as bad as the first (hopefully my prof will feel the same... afterall, the course is all about improvement). I have to keep myself from reading what the other people in my class have said, though... it's terrifying. I don't think I can write that good. How did I get stuck in this class? Otherwise, I tend to be a pretty good writer, I think. But obviously not as good as I thought. Are we ever as good as we've been told we are?
Alas... I should reall stop wasting time, since I need to read all of the Picutre of Dorian Gray before 11:30, and then write a paper in French on la theatre de l'absurde by 4:30 tomorrow. It is so freaking easy to fall behind here... I learned my lesson today that all papers I need to write should be written in the library, because it took me half as much time as I thought it would once I sat down in there and there weren't any random people wandering into my room or harassing me. And Harper library is so pretty. I wish it was bigger, it does get a little crowded in there. Today also marked the first time my computer's actually been used outside of my dorm room on campus. And it performed admirably... close to 3.5 hours on the battery, which is not bad at all for a huge pentium 4 desktop replacement-type computer. I love my little laptop, it is so good to me. I still sort of laugh at the silly people with their tiny little computer. Though I am jealous that they can comfortably use them on the bus to play solitaire. Probably for more than 3.5 hours, too. But my computer could beat them up otherwise. And its prettier. And it has a better name. Who wouldn't be jealous of Topato the Happy Laptop?
Now if only the weather was less dreary. It's sort of depressing when (for the first time since I got here) the weather's nicer at home. Gosh darn this blasted lake!
I want to eat something with my chopsticks now... drat the pre-shopping lack of food in here! Maybe I'll try eating some goldfish crackers with them...
