I just took an extra day at work this week... partially because I want to pass the time between now and Christmas faster. It wasn't a problem until about 1:30 today... when my mom pulled the single most vicious Christmas action a mother could pull. She brought me along to buy my present, because I was wavering between about three different cameras. We finally decided on one, and I'm really happy with it, and she lets me take it out of the box. So I took it out and played around with it, took pictures out the car window... got a little too attached to it. Then I had to go pick up my sister (out of the goodness of my heart, of course). And she took it away! Hidden until Christmas! Horrible heartless mean! Terrible!

So I need to keep my mind off of things, because otherwise I'd be off playing around with it. I also got my license renewed today... my picture looks pretty weird, but... I've only got to deal with it for five years. Oh, and it's so weird to have an actual, grown-up license. I don't like the colours as much. And I look like a nerd (which is nothing new).

And that was my day...

I want my camera now! This is evil! Evil! I hope it doesn't think I don't like it because I haven't used it since this afternoon. I don't want it to think that I've abandoned it! It's still got its batteries in! It could be thinking! And I'm not around for it to imprint on!

I hope so... It seemed like an understanding little guy, but this isn't the best way to begin our relationship. Poor thing. Maybe I can send it some happy vibes.

Just make sure you give it extra love when it finally comes back to your eagerly waiting hands. Everything'll be alright. ♥

It should be happy when I get it back and spend like, half a day figuring out what all the different settings do. I'm not sure whether it's bad that one of my major sticking points in this whole camera business was the complexity of the menus. The more options, the better. I refused a camera I could figure out in less than a few hours. ^_^

WHAT KIND OF CAMERA?!?!?!??!!?!?!??!?!
is it a canon??
i hope it's a canon!
or a nikon!

It's a Nikon L1. ^_^ I was looking at the Canons most of the time, but I didn't like those strange little flip-screens on the bigger ones, and I wanted more than 4 megapixels. My mom was ready to kill me, I think, considering the number of times I changed my mind.

But the separation anxiety! It's going to kill me before Sunday! There are things I want to take pictures of!

ohhhhhh a grown up license!!!! I'm jealous. My mom told me you couldn't get a renewal on your license until 2 weeks before your b-day but that obviously isn't true. Of course I'm pretty sure they won't renew it more than a month before my b-day which is when I'll be home. Stupid Ohio DMV not understanding I don't actually live in the state more than 4 monthes a year!

The rule my mom gave me was one month. I was surprised they let me renew mine early at all, since it looks like I'm 21 to careless check-out people. Guess it's their own fault if they don't look at my birthday, though.

Heheh, I almost failed the eye test because my hair was in the way of the blinking lights. I could have lost my license! (-;
