Another uneventful day. I didn't even have to work today! (Yesterday at work was weird... it was mostly new people behind the concession, and all the old people were hanging out in the lobby, even though most of them weren't working.) So my parents and I went to get Christmas tree. Yes, we make it a yearly tradition to ruthlessly murder an innocent blue spruce. But it's from a Christmas tree farm, and it was planted for that purpose, and even though I feel slightly guilty, it's not like they don't plant more. And it gets a good home for a month or so, where everyone tells it what a pretty tree it is. (Save for my sister... but in many ways she's basically a nihilist, so I'm sure the tree understands. Or would understand, if it wasn't what a bed would grow into if someone planted it.)
You know what's pathetic? I've been back for a week now. I've seen two people from my high school since I got back. I've seen them twice. Furby, and some other person whose name I don't remember, but who tried to hug my sister when we were at Game Stop tonight looking for Baldur's Gate. (Well, I was also looking for
sketchyheart, sort of, even though it's a school night and I doubted she'd be working.) At least tomorrow I'll get to see
becada422... as long as she doesn't have the plague or something.
The more I think about it, the more I'm pretty sure at least a quarter of each entry is between parentheses. Is this a bad thing? A stylistic issue I should work out? I know I run off on tangents in them and it probably makes things completely impossible to read. But, well, I write these things sort of stream-of-consciousness... maybe I should be worried about the number of parenthetical asides in my internal monologue.
I miss my UofC internet connection. I haven't been online for more than a few hours at a time over break, and that's almost always between midnight and 3 in the morning, since that's the only time everyone else is in bed. My sleep schedule is never going to recover to something normal.
