The annotated, non friends-only, slightly edited and revised version of my dream, fully explained. Woo! With footnotes, because I'm feeling academic and pretentious and Freudian! (Watch out for poorly-used HTML, I'm a little rusty).

I was outside the Shoreland, and there was this wall leading into a garden. You had to walk through a revolving gate to get into it. I went through, and Skirtpants was behind me, but he was trying to bring this bicycle or something in, so I said to just throw it over the wall to me (1). I climbed up on top of the wall to catch it, and all of a sudden this boy jumped up on the wall and it became really unstable and I had ot keep running backwards as it collapsed so I wouldn't hurt my knees (2). There were these random oriental guys in the garden, too, but all they did was look disapprovingly at the kids who had knocked down the wall. We went in the side entrance of the building and our gamer was complaining about his room, even though it was about the size of the Shoreland ballroom (3). The only problem was that it was directly connected to the storage room, so random people from the building and the maintenance people would come across this balcony every once in awhile. He slept off in this sort of cubby thing on the side. While I was there, I think there was some sort of party or something, because there were people around the middle of the room. I talked to him for a little, then headed back to my room. It wasn't really like my real room, because my sheets were white, and the room was much smaller. I got into my bunk and laid down, and all of a sudden this guy in a jedi cape came crashing through the ceiling. He was dangling upside down, so his cape came down around his head, showing that he was naked underneath (4). He got down, and I talked to him for awhile, though I don't really remember what I talked to him about. Then this random evil guy came into the room, and I had to run back out into the big main room (I think my room was actually another compartment off of the big room) (5). For some odd reason, across the room from my cubby there was this drycleaners full of old ladies, and they were telling me that I was going to have to fight the guys that were coming in (6). I think they had some sort of bet on it or something. Skirtpants was there shouting at me in Japanese, and I could only remember bits of it, even though I knew that it was my native language (7). And anyway, at this point I realize that I'm actually a ninja. I remember fighting off the first two in the building, then I had to run outside. At some point between fighting off the first two and running outside, there was some sort of brief subtitled (honestly!) flashback that involved me, my master, and this strange tree. He was telling me something important, but I can't remember what it was. I had a brother there with me, too (8). When I came outside though, I was actually outside of BJ. I ran down 59th and this girl assassin was chasing me, and then she hopped into this big van. I was talking to these random people on the street until she was distracted enough inside the van, then I climbed up the ladder on the back and stood on the roof (9). She took off down the road with me on top of the van, and then all of a sudden I dropped this weight through the windshield. I distinctly remember it being 20 pounds. It was like a cinderblock, and for some reason it occured to me that it weighed 20 pounds (10). The van came to a screeching halt and I jumped off into the grass. Then I noticed this girl lying in the middle of the road (another assassin) who had been thrown from the van when it stopped. She was bleeding a lot and I felt really horrible (11). She looked a lot like the prospie I took care of (12). Only I knew that I had killed her. I wasn't sure though, until I looked down the midway (which fell off down a hill for some reason) to this intersection where I could faintly see a unicorn running around (13). I knew that I could go get the unicorn and use its blood to cure the girl, but I also knew that they only show up when someone is dead for sure anyway. I looked over and up at the stars, and I suddenly realized how incredibly realistic everything was (14). I looked down the street and saw death sprinting towards the girl. I knew I could see him because I was able to use magic (15). He used this strange sword to take her soul, then ran off (16). There were a few other people from school around, just standing there. And an ambulance. I got up and left the scene, and went into this building. It looked a lot like the inside of BJ, and this one guy from down the hall was standing there in this tattered-looking black cloak that didn't quite reach the ground. I looked down at his shoes and I realized that he was actually Death (17). I didn't actually say anything to him about it, though. I walked outside, and wondered what else I was supposed to do. I was standing under this columned porch, and this random campus tour came by. At this point I was well aware of the fact that I was dreaming, and I was actually thinking about what I should do, and if I should try to take control of things. But I decided there was nothing else I could do that wouldn't make me wake up. I think I vagely sort of wondered what I was wearing, then I woke up.

1) This bit here, I'm not too terribly sure of. The revolving barred entrance thing seems to be either from the subway or Blockbuster, I'm not sure. And the whole bicycle thing is undoubtedly from my almost constant frustration with the bike racks here where all the bikes get tangled up, and there's never enough room.

2) Not quite sure what the collapsing wall means, but the whole garden seemed at first to be a labyrinth, in which case the walls coming down is a good thing. The little kid looked a lot like one of the creepies from FFX or XS. File this under miscellaneous subconscious video game reference number one.

3) The very simple answer here is switching our resident gamer for his roomie, who always complains about the size of his room, even though it isn't all that bad.

4) Pretty sure this goes back to the "making fun of Jedi" incident on the bus Thursday, where the girl yelled at us. The naked part (unfortunately I fear) probably has more to do with the recent advent of skirtpants and the revelation that people don't do things like wear normal pants under them.

5) Though I don't remember this perfectly, I'm pretty sure the evil guy was Legato from Trigun

6) Almost certain this bit was yoinked directly from Xenosaga, the part in the Kukai foundation where you have to save everyone from the gnosis (like that isn't every part of the game). At the very least, it was definitely the XS drycleaners.

7) This is quite obviously a jab at me jabbing at skirtpants for not knowing his native language. As I fought the people though, bits of it came back to me. Really, the number of times in my dreams that I have been speaking languages that I can't understand is increasing phenomenally. Maybe I should get this checked out. Hehehe. I know the only stuff that came back to me in my dream was random ways to insult the people trying to kill me. For some reason, qui became an insult that I was shouting at some guy in a white closet. And qui is French, goshdarnit. Silly subconscious.

8) See above. And also, this bit was not really animated, but it was seen completely in the anime colour scheme (duller more muted colours and such, as far as I interpret it). I'm pretty sure it was subtitled even though there was very little or no speaking at all going on.

9) Jumping on top of vehicles is the new coolest thing to do. This definitely came from our new anime we're making. Skirtpants finally finished one of the concept sketches for it. He makes me jealous... I wish I could draw. I still plan on forcing them to turn it into a manga, so I can have an excuse to put it up on the internet. We could be famous. Hehehee.

10) I'm pretty sure a 20 pound weight wouldn't break a windshield. Especially since I just dropped it down, and didn't throw it or anything. Oh well, no one said physics has to actually work properly in my dreams, did they?

11) The weirdest part of this was that the first thirty seconds or so of this felt like it had been ripped directly from Trigun or something. I remember thinking that I had really screwed up and betrayed Rem. Yay confusion. Vash is so not a ninja.

12) Total guilt trip about the prospie I had to look after. Plus some paranoia. Yeesh.

13) Random reference to Harry Potter. I have no idea how this got in here. It's almost out of place. Except that this bit of the dream takes a decidedly literary turn it its references. Good to know that my mind still keeps its books straight. Which reminds me I need to get to work on that list of books I intend to read over the summer. It's getting longer, and I'd hate to forget some of them.

14) At this point I was very briefly aware that it was a dream, but luckily I was able to ignore it or else I would have woken up. I hate it when that happens, too. And it always does whenever I realize I'm dreaming. It's sort of disappointing, because if I ever try to have fun with it, I usually wake up soon after so it's easier for me to just forget that I'm dreaming and let it happen. There's some odd psychology for you. Like, anti-lucid-dreaming mechanisms.

15) Total Pratchett reference. Yay!

16) The funny part of this is that the sword was a lot like the one Cervantes has in Soul Caliber II, which is the character the guy who turns out to be death plays. My brain ties things together so well. Obscure foreshadowing and all.

17) Death wears brownish bootish shoes that give the impression of sneakers. Weirdest mental interpretation of shoes ever. The fun part was the inspiration I gave this guy when I told him that he was death in my dream. We're always joking about him being death, since he always wears hoodies. He'd make a great death, too. Woo.

Well, that was a lot of fun! I feel so Freudian. And I'm sure you've been duely entertained, non? My typing skills are dead today. Dead!
