You know that moment when you finally get it, and then immediately after feel really stupid for not getting it sooner? Especially after people in your room stand behind the computer and go "What? Hahahaha, the second one is called 'Beyond Good and Evil?' What's this one called?" And you go "Der Wille Zur Macht, but I can't remember the English translation right now." La la la, intervening time. "What a weird plot." "Yeah, it's very Nietzschian" And you just sit there la la la, I have no idea that The Will to Power is actually a book by Nietzsche, too. I should be beat over the head with something right about now. Instead though, I am going to blame Media Aesthetics. Because everyone else read the useful Nietzsche, and we all know we are not going to see Xenosaga Episode 3: Geburt Der Tragodie. If we do though, I'll spend weeks upon weeks laughing. Maybe it will be Ecce Homo. Except that's Latin and would screw up their whole German titling thing. Actually, by ruling out ridiculous titles like "Thus Spake Zarathustra" there are probably less than three left that they could use to title the rest of the series. So, for fun, I am now going to name the rest of the games in the Xenosaga series. Woo
Episode 3: Der Wanderer und sein Schatten (I officially make this one all about Jin and Citan, despite the fact that one is like, ten thousand years older than the other)
Episode 4: Gotzen-Dammerung
Episode 5: Xenogears (Der Antichrist)
Episode 6: Dionysus-Dithyramben
Episode 6 consists entirely of everyone celebrating after defeating Deus, of course. Just because I can't possibly imagine anything useful happening after the end of Xenogears. It would just be silly. Maybe it'll be Episode 6: Morgenrothe. And it would be all about how they rebuild the world. Bwahahahaha!
Wow, if this was the kind of research I had to do for my papers, I'd be set. New summer project though, is to read a lot of Nietzsche. I don't see why we always have to read the worst book by anyone in Media Aesthetics... it's not fair. I should've taken Readings in World Lit.
"What? Is man merely a mistake of God's? Or God merely a mistake of man's?"
