2:30 in the morning. I've finally closed the notes on lock-picking. Freaking... 1,700 words written. When I was all giddy about having my muse back someone should've warned me about this part.

I am going to have to start going to bed at nine if I keep having ideas I just have to write down as soon as I try to go to sleep. (Especially ideas that are along the lines of... this thing. Which is now 2/15ths finished, maybe.)

I'm going to hope I somehow don't regret this by the time I wake up, but that's going to be quite unlikely.

.... I just spent two and a half hours writing and it actually came out like I was writing it aaaaahhhhh it feels so good to have a grasp of narrative voice back! And in two different POVs, too! I also hope I don't hate it in the morning. But for now... eeeeee.

Hurray! Congratulations!

...God I know what you mean, though. I hate that. Sometimes The Writey nests in your brain when you're going to bed, and it feeds you about ten million ideas that are just too good to be forgotten, so you have to keep turning on the light and scribbling them down when you should be sleeping... ARGH.

I also managed not to pass out at work today! (Though I was super-cranky by the end of the day, and yelled at my boss when he waited until five to tell me that I'd be training someone else tomorrow.)

The goshdarn Writey has been doing this to me constantly lately. I bring my iPod to bed with me now just so I can use it for notes, and usually this is enough to get the Writey to hush so I can slee. (And oh gosh, if anyone ever gets a hold of those notes they are going to have no idea what's going on.) Though it beats turning the light on and trying to hunt down one of my notebooks.

Yay, woo hoo! Now watch me scurry off to my job now, which I will be late to if I don't get my ass of LJ and out the door...

Thanks! ^_^

Tsk tsk, checking LJ before work. Never a good idea. Last week I was late leaving because I stupidly started reading fic.

LJ kinda rules my life right now...I'm using it to distract me from the anxiety of going back to school and realizing that I am actually going to graduate and have to find a REAL real job.

Anyway, so I'm listening to The Suburbs right now, and I like it, but it's definitely an album I enjoy on in the background, and not something I actively listen to. It's going to be good writing music.

(And just throwing this out there, but if you ever need someone to read your work and give feedback...no pressure, feel free to ignore the fact that I made this offer if you're not interested! I know how hard it is to find someone to trust with your writing.)

Yeah, that's actually exactly what I've been using the Suburbs for. There are a few songs on it that really stand out, but it just flows so well as an album it's great to have on while doing other thinking work. (I have a massive soft spot for albums that have an actual theme, and aren't just collections of songs.)

(And thank you for the offer. I tend to let things sit for an almost infinite amount of time after I write them, but goshdarnit I am going to need someone to read things over eventually. I've always had a hard time finding people who actually want to deal with the tedious beta reads. Likewise, I'm happy to read things over for you, though you've probably already got people in place. And my comments tend to get lengthy and... well, at this point that shouldn't really be a surprise, should it? (-;)

You might have noticed, I am also a fan of the long, rambling comment, so no problem there!

This is what I love about The Decemberists, especially The Crane Wife and The Hazards of Love.

I do not have people in place to beta for me! I never really know how to go about finding one. I don't want to just advertise for one because, well...I need someone to do more than just read for spelling and grammar. I can do that myself. I need someone whose opinion I respect to actually criticize the pacing, use of language, ideas, themes, etc. And the people whose writing I really respect tend to already have betas in place, so...

Anyway, I won't spam you with the silly fanfic I write, but I might send along some of my entries for the original fiction challenge I foolishly signed up for.

When you have something you want me to read, just PM me for my email address.

(What did you say about long comments? :D)
