O, glorious distraction! Who wants to be my personal reference for this? I'm already culling the awful science fiction references from my pitch (those that aren't awful will stay. After all, the application has a Lost reference.) Finally, a job I am qualified for!

Better yet, who wants to loan me a video camera? I don't think my little camera's video mode will really cut it.

(Honestly, if I can secure a video camera I'm kind of serious about this. I think it'd be a hilarious adventure, and totally the sort of thing I could sit around and write about every night. Plus trying to get the month off work right after going to Europe would be an amazing feat of argument. It's such a ridiculous reason to miss work I might actually be able to do it. And if I had to quit, heck, I could live off the $10,000 until I found something else, or finally went to grad school. Regardless, it'd be a story to tell, and I'm all about stories to tell.)

Ooh ooh ooh! I like that museum! I've been to that museum! I'm cultivating a long-distance relationship with their U-Boat!

Also, that sounds AMAZING.

The MSI is like my best museum friend here, though we mostly just know each other because my university kept inviting me over there so we could all play. I'm going to start intercepting that mail, unless you'll share. Did you visit it while it was still living in the water out back, or did you get to see it in all its glory in the special giant cavernous room they built for it?

Do it do it do it do it do it do ti do it.

Me and the boy was talking about this yesterday and we both agree that this is so you, in a way. I will fly to Chicago just to see you on exhibit.

Working on it working on it working on it working on it! (-; I'm debating whether I want to spend the bus ride tomorrow working out a proper application for this, or writing up some beta-ing I owe someone. Chances are it'll be a bit of both, interspersed with attempts at getting farther in Finnegan's Wake (it's defeating me, and yet I keep trying...)

Maybe one of you can be a personal reference. I think I need someone who can explain why this makes perfect sense for me, for certain definitions of "perfect sense". (-; Actually, maybe you can be... I'm not sure I trust the sorts of things the boy tends to say on the fly. ^_^

!!!! Yes, this appears relevant to your interests.

I think it's become pretty clear that quitting your job is not actually possible, so the extra month should be no problem at all.

Oh goodness, please don't say that! (I might be tempted to test the theory again... Actually, I'm always tempted to test that theory. Especially today, since had a nightmare about Bank of America responding to the horribly curt e-mail I sent them before leaving work on Friday (I did this because I figured if they called my boss, at least I wouldn't be in the office to get yelled at for it, but man, they've been avoiding answering our questions for a year, someone had to yell at their reps.) Also I woke up this morning thinking that I was supposed to be at work, and I needed to check my phone in case anyone had called with questions. Ugh.)

This looks so cool. If you get in, I will be extremely excited.

You'd have to come up and visit. ^_^ Brendan ought to be getting close to an age where he could enjoy it (or at least parts of it). Though I dunno if he'd enjoy the car ride.
