Home and settled in...

Well... I guess I'm well-rested now, at least. In that I slept for 10 hours last night, and dozed off for a few more on the couch this afternoon. I don't think I'd have dozed off at all if it hadn't been so freaking cold out. (Okay, so 60ish isn't cold, but it is in comparison to the 70s that I was expecting/used to since it's, you know, June and all...) It's weird that I don't have the usual, I dunno, period of weirdness after just getting back. Maybe I've settled into the whole back-and-forth thing. I've just got this horrible feeling that I'm going to be homesick for Chicago soon, just because it sank in very quickly today that there is nothing to do here. No internet most of the time (owing to the whole living with other people and only having one computer thing), and when it exists it's slow (which is torture for someone who lives online like I do, I'm sure we can all guess). And now basically no car, since my sister's got her license. So I can't go anywhere. Not that there's anywhere to go. So... I think Monday, after I call tech support and work on getting my laptop fixed (finally), I'm going to have to hunt for a job that is somehow both close, and involving less popcorn and maybe (if I'm very lucky) actual thinking. Because otherwise I'm going to die. Or readjust to this. Though, considering I sat down today and have already finished 3/4 of Reaper Man, I think if any adjusting is going to be done, it's going to involve just as much reading as school did, only with a bit more of a non-academic bent. And me actually finding my library card.

P.S. TV is very boring. Also, I miss being able to download things to watch. Does anyone know when anything vaguely interesting is on any of the major networks, since I don't even have cable?
