I hate the College Board and its evil empire. I finally got my AP scores today... I don't know what to think about them. I only got a 4 on the English Lit test, which I expected to get a five on because it was easy... Naturally my excuse will be that my senior english class pretty much completely screwed the way I write. I cannot force myself to write in pre-determined formats. I'm not anti-paragraph or anything, but when everything you write has to have an exactly three sentence long (no exceptions) opening paragraph, followed by exactly three paragraphs, all in the form of thesis, reason, justification 1, 2 examples, justification 2, two examples it sort of kills any sort of creativity you had in mind. Another problem could have been that we hadn't read any of the books on the big important last essay question that's worth about a quarter of the test. I was quite pleasantly surprised to see that I didn't get a negative score on my AP Calc test, though. I actually got a 3... I was shocked. I'll temporarily forget that everyone going to Chicago I've talked to have 5s... I was actually expecting a 1 or some negative score. I don't think I answered more than 2 of the essay-like questions, and there were at least ten.. and I left a lot of the multiple choice blank. These tests confuse me to no end sometimes. Hopefully the placement tests this September will be more reasonable. I have to take the calculus one instead of the general math, since I have "some calculus experience," but I don't have half as much as most people going to the UofC. Stupid rural public education that doesn't care about math. Stupid me for wanting to go into something so calculus-intensive as Physics. I suppose, after I lose my entire hand to a bizarre pretzel machine accident and go on permanent disability at the expense of Regal Cinemas and am unfortunately unable to operate my calculator any longer, I can just go on to make art films (Oh noooo! It's my mom's biggest fear, her worst nightmare! I've waisted my education and am now making no money! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!).
