Rar, cynicism

It's been pointed out to me enough times in the past week that I'm starting to get concerned: apparently I am now not only millions of times more cynical than I used to be, but I'm also... I dunno, I guess something is unusual about my sense of humour lately. I'm willing to bet it's tied in with my cynicism, and me letting the mean comments through a lot more. People here don't really take my abuse as well as people at home did, though. Which is probably what's making my cynical (that, and the workload). It's an evil cycle. This cynicism thing though... that's got to go. I really, really don't like cynical people. They're not fun. I mean, I keep a healthy amount of cynicism. It's sort of needed. But real cynicism? Nothing-is-funny-to-me-right-now, people-get-away-before-I-kill-you-or-something cynicism? (Those are probably uncommon variants of cynicism, and mostly more related to my general frustration at this point, but for now I can push it off on cynicism.) Not cool, not fun, and probably signs that I need to get out of here and take a nice long break. Preferably a bit longer than three weeks and with no working involved, but I'll take what I can get. At least I never go into work feeling like if anyone talks to me I'll want to snap at them. I don't like having to put an effort into being nice. It's just not me. I bet this is because I've spent more time in the Reg this quarter. It's eating my soul! I was going to go study there tomorrow, but I think I'll stick to the dorm where it's safer. And where I'll be able to find any of the random copies I might need. Yep, definitely what I need to do. My efforts today to restore my soul a bit by doing absolutely nothing were sort of thwarted by my roomie's cleaning frenzy. And when she goes on a cleaning frenzy, everything gets cleaned. My lovely halo of papers I haven't needed since first week that used to be around my desk? Gone. Because she was vaccuuming, and if I'd left it there, it would have died a very unfortunate and messy death. My desk is clean now, too, because I hate to leave something half-done. (And it was really about time it got cleaned. My desk is never clean, but it's rarely as hopelessly messy as my desk was earlier today. I wonder if a clean desk will make me less cynical.)

Oh, but before I go and make myself less cynical, there's one thing I should get out of the way (for a second time now, I think):

Taking the script/characters of one show and replacing them with characters from another show is NOT A CROSSOVER. That is cut-and-pasting! It is not "crack." It's not even creative! Stop it! OMG wut if Ed wuz winnie teh Poo?/? And Al wuz eeore? HAHAHAHACRACK!!!LOLZ1
