I'm actually feeling rather good tonight. I finally finished the five pages I was supposed to have done yesterday morning, and though it's littered with signs that I have a lot, lot, lot of work ahead of me, it's five pages that's done. And I managed to be nice to my preceptor when I sent the e-mail. Not fake nice, but actual apologetic nice, because I really shouldn't hold things against her unless she does something that is undeniably mean and stuck-up, rather than just mean and stuck up through situational analysis. So we'll see on Tuesday (or possibly Thursday).
So, my reward for finishing (since I missed going to dinner with people and an awful lot of video gaming and philosophical/political debate while I was stressing over this first set of deadlines) was two episodes of Battlestar Galactica. I really feel the need right now to point out how much I am in love with Chief Tyrol. Really, I'm in love with 3/4 of the characters, and the rest, though I don't like them, are still awesome. Gah. But the Chief is so adorable. I'd say I want to give him a hug about 98% of the time. Oh, and the show screws with my emotions so much. It's wonderful. I hope someday I can write something like that. It'd bring me joy on so many levels. I still need to kill people for making it too easy for me to watch, though. And one of the culprits is responsible for me now having the whole of season 3 of House on my computer, too. It's a shame none of the show's I'm in love with right now are sitcoms, because then my TV writing homework would be 500% easier. Then again, my homework is to watch sitcoms, so I shouldn't be complaining about easy.
I can tell already that this is going to be an amazingly up and down quarter. I'm going to be all over the place, from bitter and ranty to content to insanely happy (especially when deadlines are actually met and I'm satisfied with my work). So... I guess this is your warning. Sorry in advance for this quarter being crazy insane bipolar nuts. I'll try to make it entertaining in a non-frightening way.
