Silly Joseph Regenstein. Zombie Joseph Regenstein who eats souls instead of brains. The souls of students who offer up their souls in exchange for making their brains better. Harper was so much cooler than you. At least, judging by his library. Which, by the way, eats far fewer souls (not sure about the USITE there... I'm pretty sure that eats souls, considering how hard it was to print last year. But I imagine some other past university benefactor is in charge of that one). I'm not even going to mention Crerar though. Mostly because I don't know the guy.

I'm not sure if this extra hour between classes here is a good idea. The one I have on Tuesday-Thursday is good for finishing Physics homework on Tuesday, but bad for making me more likely to skip Physics lecture on Thursday because of that eeeeevil lab. I hope I'm not compelled to skip as much this quarter. I was so lazy last quarter.

Anyway... books are going to kill me this quarter. Just thought I'd throw that in there for you. So far, I guess I'll survive. This quarter's all about C/C++ in compsci, and there are actual references for that, so I don't have to worry so much about screwey help files if I run into a lot of trouble. The prof seems nice, too. Awefully young (he can't be out of his twenties) and he sometimes forgets the English word for things (ampersand today, but there are a lot of native English speakers who don't remember that one. And all the programming words are in English pretty much no matter what anyway, and that's what matters). I don't know why I couldn't keep my eyes open in there today. Perhaps because I'm perpetually confused about what time it is. I got like, 8.5 hours of sleep last night. Or at least I would have if someone hadn't called at 7 this morning and let the phone ring for like, ten minutes. It was a part of my dream (which I can't remember enough of to write down), then it was happening outside, then I realized it was the phone and my roomie was in the bathroom where she couldn't hear it, so I dragged myself out of bed and went to answer it, and it was nothing but a lot of static and someone hitting random numbers. Grrrr. I did manage to fall asleep again, though. And I am so cold! The radiator in our room is on all the time but it is still cold! I don't get it! (Well, I do. The window's open. But if I close that and it gets all nice and warm and toasty in the room other people will complain).

It looks like there are about ten people in my Environmental Ecology class. Which makes no sense, since there are like, six discussion sections (all with one or two people in them) and apparently no one is actually registered for the class. This scares me. I do not want to sit in a lecture hall that holds 177 people with only like, nine other people. Insane. I should have gone to OSU. Being ignored is so much easier.

I don't know if I want to go find lunch now, or after my next class. The next class isn't over until 12:30 though... and by then I will most certainly be starving, because I'm quite hungry right now. But I'm also too lazy to go over to Hutch and find something to eat. Sigh. What am I to do with myself? This is mostly because I'm not in the mood for anything they have over there... except maybe a bagel. I definitely need to run to the Co-op after class today. My fridge is bare (save for two flat bottles of pop, two things of tofu, some random veggies my roomie bought last night, ranch dressing, salsa, orange juice concentrate, butter, strange eggs, and probably some potatoes or something).

Cleaning up the desk, hanging up posters... cleaning off my computer. And doing random memes to take up space on your friends page!

Like this! )

Other than that... yeah, today's been fairly non-evil. There were definitely a lot more than thirteen people in EE, so hooray for that. There were actually quite a few people in there from random classes last year. And the professor is English, so hooray for that. You can totally tell he's not a UofC person, just by his very orange tye-dyed shirt. I think I'll like him muchly. Hooray!
So, between wandering my friends page and my journal archives (and partially inspired by [livejournal.com profile] bugboy3001) I realized that I did the whole New Year's meme thing last year... so for fun, here is last year's pasted in, with this year's answers underneath it.  It ought to be amusingly different.

Old me vs. Newer me... )

[Might as well make this a GIP too. Ahhhh Hughes! What is this now, my third Hughes icon? Not counting the one that was sacrificed for Iruka. Yeesh.]
