Hehe, I had such a strange dream last night. Unfortunately, I can't quite remember all of it, and it's rather fractured. It started with me flying around to the tune of the Reading Rainbow song, and knowing that I was dreaming and that it was a really weird way of starting a dream. The next thing I remember is being in the middle of a big, green-coloured construction site. Parts of it looked a lot like the pavilion from my going-to-Chicago dream.

Drat, this weird fade-out/in-combine-MP3s thing on WinAmp is distracting. Letsee... how long is my playlist... Bah, it doesn't tell me on this one! Well, I'm sure it does someplace, but I can't find it. I still can't get rid of some of the exceedingly stupid pre-installed programs on here. I was looking forward to playing around on one of the picture-editing things, but it was one of those "free trial" things anyway, and it took up a lot of space that could have been used to hold... well, my entire collection of purloined MP3s. I wonder if, since I don't download them anymore, I'll still get in trouble for having them at college. I couldn't bear to part with most of them.

Oh, one other thing I've forgotten to mention lately. At work, we finally got a new CD, and there's a BNL song on it! It's very strange to hear that all the time, especially on our super-bad sound system in the lobby that makes everything suck three times as much. Maybe if I could hear the song on something that actually plays parts of the song that are not exclusively high. I think the BNL album was in my dream too, and it comforted to find that the album was called something other than Everything to Everyone, but alas, it's not. I think in my dream it was Everything to An Emu. Much better name for an album. What were they thinking when they came up with such an ego-centred title? Hmm.. Hehehehe. I have strange ideas about bands and names, though. I wanted to make a band, call it Pseudopod (which apparently already exists) and name the first album Eponymous. Eponymous is a fun word. The next album would be Hippopotamus. All the albums would rhyme in a very vague way.

Hmm, it's probably not good for me to be writing this before I even get out of bed, hmm?

I think it's been awhile since I actually looked at my journal online. Who knows how screwed up using this client thing has made it! I need to figure out how to get the XP firewall thing working properly, so I can stop getting all those stupid harassing pop-ups from stupid freaking Windows messanger. Stupid messanger and XP. I've done a ton of work to try to make it function like my old 98, but I still run into those "this folder contains system files that you should not change" warnings. I survived very well without my computer telling me that, thank you Bill Gates. XP is defnitely made to be more "user friendly" and not for people like me that go snooping around, and feel lost and confused when it takes them a day to find Windows Explorer. WE is my friend sometimes. Though, it still can't seem to help me fix my mom's solitaire game. I dunno how it broke, but everyone here insists it was Best Buy that deleted it. My dad also believes that I have a virus on here already. Curse Windows! I should learn to use Linux or something. It wouldn't look as pretty, and I wouldn't be used to it, and it probably wouldn't work on my school's network and... hmmm, maybe I should just learn to deal with XP, huh?

It's so nice to be able to lay here on my bed and type this. All you silly people with desktops are probably jealous right now. Sorry, I don't mean to make you jealous, really. This is just fun. Hehehe. Yay laptop! I've sort of run out of things to do with it offline though. I'm sort of tired of the help paperclip kicking my butt at chess. That's really sad. I need to learn to play chess properly again. It's been so long. At least I always win at battleship and checkers. Mwahahahaha. A nice defensive checkers strategy is always good, though the way I won I would've called it a tie. There just weren't any moves that could be made. All the checkers were moved to the middle of the board and everything was stuck.

I can't wait to get to college. Now that I have my computer, I think I'm ready to go. My mom insists that we're going to have a pack a huge vehicle full of stuff for me to take there, but I doubt it. Afterall, all I need to bring are my clothes and my computer, and a few other dorm room related things that aren't that large at all. I think I agreed to bring the phone (small), I'll probably bring a shower curtain (also small), a wastebasket of some sort, I might end up with a printer... maybe. But that's small too. I'm not bringing an office-sized copy machine with me or anything. I measured the demensions of the average room in the Shoreland, and it's about the size of my living room anyway, and you probably could fit two beds, a TV, two laptops, and an office-sized copy machine in there. That reminds me that I've been meaning to call housing, though. I need to do that, and write my thank-you notes. I wish I could find the thank-you notes so I could write them, actually. I feel bad that it's been three weeks now since my Nanny and aunt gave me graduation cards and I still haven't sent the notes. And if I make the other aunt that sent me one a few days ago angry, I'll be rather in trouble.

I hope I don't accidentally hit anything on this that will cause it to be sent to one of the communities I belong to. That would be bizarre, and a little embarassing. Golly gee, what the heck do I keep pressing that moves the cursor into the middle of the line above? That's really weird, and sort of annoying. But at least I'm getting used to using all the keys. Back into my anti-mousing habits. Which is a good thing, because this touchpad gets all freaky sometimes. And when I run this on batteries, sometimes the screen gets darker all of a sudden, without warning. I want to go to the cafe down the street and try their fancy internet! I want to go to Chicago and use their fancy internet and wireless! I need to charge my battery..
