My school... is nuts. I got up this morning, like most other self-respecing college students, after only about six hours of sleep. This, contrary to the usual, was not because of my demonic freaking radiator, but because I had to stay up and finish reading Augustine's Book of Doom (City of God). Crazy old man. So contrary to what my natural insticts tell me to do (go back to sleep, please!) I drag myself out of bed, get dressed, and catch the bus at ten til. I think I slept in until 20 after 8, which is usually a bad idea when, to get to class on time, you have to leave at 20 til. So I was a little late, but still got to class relatively on time. As long as you show up in the first five minutes (as long as the class isn't compsci, which for some inexplicable reason seems to start about three minutes early) you're safe. So, I get to the classroom and and usual people are sitting around disucussing things. My sosc class baffles me that way. We all just sit there and talk. We have an incredible ability to just talk. And that's basically the class. So, recently our professor has been sick-ish. Not technically sick, but she's got a pinched nerve in her neck which is bothering her. So she missed class once last week, and Tuesday she still didn't have our papers graded because of the medication and stuff she's on. Today, ten minutes into class, she still wasn't there. The TA was reluctant to do anything, and started talking about how most people, when the professor is more than ten minutes late to class, leave. Most people. Fifteen minutes. We're still talking. The TA gives in and starts writing stuff on the board. And we have class anyway. That's right... my sosc class is so freaking excited about talking that we had class without the professor. Let me say it again. MY CLASS SAT DOWN AND DISCUSSED CITY OF GOD WITHOUT THE FREAKING PROFESSOR. AND NO ONE COMPLAINED! I am stunned. I just... what the heck is wrong with people at this school? We could have all gone back to our dorms and taken a nap. And we talked about Augustine.
On the bright/less weird side of today, the computers in physics lab today were broken, so we didn't have to do the last part of the lab. Rejoice! I am home early! I believe this is a sign that I should use my extra free time tonight to catch up on some things, maybe fix a computer or two... finally get around to sending out the house minutes... maybe finish the house website that I keep telling people that I'm going to do. Or write a novel. Whichever. It all works for me. Like, maybe I should do laundry... or go grocery shopping. Or maybe cash my paycheck. You know... important things. Or I could keep wasting time, like I am right now.
