I hope I don't have to work tomorrow... I can't sleep. Mostly because some stupid Asian guy decided to try to ruin my lovely rumour about Kakashi by being stupid about it on the AnimeSuki forums, and by the time I got around to composing my highly pretentious reply, the thread was deleted for being "useless." Actually... I just can't sleep and my reply was a result of it. But it still makes me sad that I won't be able to redeem my theory. So, for now... it will sit here. Until I find some sort of Naruto forum that is a bit less... well, pretentious. I like to justify this sort of stupid stuff just for fun, especially after that incredibly ridiculous rumour about Animorphs I made up ended up in an AOL interview with the TV cast. Rumours are fun!
"In an attempt to redeem this topic and my precious rumour, I'd like to apologize for Repulse's abrupt, uncreative (perhaps unintelligible), and possibly inflammatory representation of my theory. Allow me to present my hypothesis and justification for my assertion in the most pretentious way possible.
Hypothesis: Kakashi is sporting a goatee under his mask.
Possible Proof:
1) As already mentioned, Kakashi's persistent tardiness (though explained partially by his frequent visits to the memorial) may also be due, in part, to the time it would take him to shave that goatee in the morning.
2) Though only Naruto speaks the thought aloud, Kakashi's fashion sense where he has free reign is questionable (though, naturally, not to the extreme of Gai's). Case in point, Kakashi's hair is, at the very least, unique. It is not unreasonable to believe that this follicle eccentricity also extends to his taste in facial hair.
3) My most shaky proof my be the most convincing. Though grounded in nothing true, my observations give me the sense that it is not hard at all (after nearly 100 episodes) to guess how Kakashi's face would appear under his mask. Therefore, there must be more to hide. That leaves only the question of what it is. Tattoos aside, only facial hair could be hidden under that mask. The texture of something as extreme as a beard would be visible under the mask, but a small goatee would not. Thus, in the interest of... interest, the only thing that could possibly be hidden under his mask is a goatee. Some may point to the pictures of Kakashi as a young boy, indicating the presence of the mask before. That is only to throw you off! Clearly if you saw that Kakashi lacked the mask as a boy, the conclusion that facial hair is hidden under it would come much sooner, and a new twist would have to be invented.
So, in the spirit of all those lovely rumours you heard in elementary school... Pssst... I hear Kakashi's hiding a goatee under that mask! Pass it on!
(Apologies for my first post here being so obnoxious. But it's all in fun, after all.)"
