[Con Report, Approximate and Backdated]
Hooray for Saturday! I think I'm going to leave pictures up to Sketchy, just because well, I don't have any. I realize now that this could have actually been posted at the con, despite the fact that I forgot the phone cord because of the hotel's free-but-not-labeled wireless internet. Wireless internet! And all I had to do was drag my computer down to the lobby! But that will end my ranting... This is about Saturday's adventure, afterall. And of course, Saturday is always the biggest day of the con. Yay!
I got up around oh... 9ish, got into my Anbu costume, noted that the armguards would probably never stay on all day, and went down to breakfast. Sketchy and I had to steal some stuff for my sister, who ended up sleeping most of the day. We wandered around a bit, and then eventually sat down by the artists tables and peddaled art. Mostly I just sat there with paper in my mouth that said Art ---> I think someone somewhere has a picture of it, too. That would be interesting to see. Around 3:30ish, the random Naruto people came and swooped me up for their cosplay group. I ended up sitting in the room waiting for judging until about 5:00. And I was continually pseduo-stalked by dark-chocolate boy, who was dressed up as Orochimaru. Freaking creepy dark-chocolate boy, who stalked me when I was dressed as Winry but somehow didn't actually recognize me as an Anbu. Whatever. He was really creepy though. Then by 5:30 or so I was back out and wandering around, and ended up going back upstairs for an hour or so. At which point I realized I wasn't going to get back downstairs in time for the cosplay. And I sort of didn't want to go, because like, everyone in the giant (18 other people) Naruto group knew each other. Somewhere before being stolen by the Naruto people, Sketchy and I played Naruto 2 for a bit, and discovered the Gai Glomp, which caused her to have to buy the game. Hooray for huge impulsive con purchases! Around 7ish we went down to the DDR room, because the tournament was going to start. Unfortunately they started with light, then standard, and then heavy. Which meant that the tournament was slow, and I didn't get to do anything until about 11, and by then most of the people had disappeared, including about half of the people in the heavy tourney. Which made me sort of sad, but oh well. I got third, out of five people. But the two people who won could play the really hard tens, so I'm not upset about anything. I ended up spending most of the rest of the night in the DDR room playing the Chocobo song and Jenova and whatever else anyone wanted to play with me. I think I can pass almost any nine now, except for that one stupid really evil one on Max2 whose name I can't remember. It isn't Conga Feeling. I know I could pass that if I didn't hate it so much. And yes, I can pass Exotic Ethnic and Rythm and Police if I'm not tired. I miss reglular-Max! I need StepMania.. mmmmm. It takes up a lot of space on the computer though. If I had extra money, I'd buy myself an external harddrive and run it off of that. Ohhh, that would be awesome. Sigh...
Right. Back to the con though... after hours of killing myself at DDR and fearing that the smell of the room had permanently attached itself to me, Sketchy and I popped over to the dance for a little bit to check it out. The smell was crippling. And people complained about the DDR room... eep! Then after about five minutes they started playing this bizarre like... grungetenchnodoommix that sounded like a skipping CD. I left after that, and then we went over to Karaoke. There was one girl that was really, really good. Everyone shut up for her. The others were... well, it was karaoke at a con, what do you expect? It was amusing for the like, fifteen minutes or so that we were in there. I also was tempted to make a bad attempt at Wind. But I figured it would be bad enough normally, but in an Anbu costume as well it would be... over the line. So we went upstairs, I took a shower, and went to bed. The end of Saturday. Even though Saturday stretched into the wee hours of Sunday.
