Incidentally, I played my first game of DDR over the weekend. My friend Dave and I played - he's all crazy good and I'm not bad for a beginner, apparently. Hehe. I can see how it would get addicting, though!
Did you start in an arcade, or on the nice friendly PS2 version? I tried the arcade once, and failed miserably at it because I was taught on soft pads on the 5th floor of a dorm at about 1 in the morning with downstairs neighbours that are easily roused to anger by noise. (-: Thus, I lack the ability to hit the arcade buttons hard enough. The arcade version is so... medieval or something. Hehehe. For some reason, I keep wanting to put a g in arcade. I don't know why.
Yep, I was in an arcade. Though I think I know someone with the PS2 version.
Still, I thought the arcade was ok, except that when I lost my rhythm, I couldn't tell whether my feet came back to the centre or whether I was standing on one of that pads, and that really threw me off. But yes. It's expensive. A buck a game. Geez.
