evilhippo: hippo (boom!)

I sort of basically missed making an entry yesterday. But that's alright... it was the sort of day where the last think I needed to do was write down all my thoughts so they'd become permanent in some way. Depending on what part of the day I sat down and wrote, there would have been two totally different entries. One sour sad frustrated identity-crisis sort of entry, and later on it would have been one of those giddy happy all-sorted-out caffeine-high type entries. I couldn't sleep in yesterday, on account of my CPR training for lifeguarding. Luckily it only took three and a half hours, rather than the nine it was supposed to. Hooray for fast learners! So now I am officially certified (for a year) to provide CPR and related care. Scary, non? Especially in some ways I am almost legally obligated to do so. I think I'm going to need to start carrying gloves and stuff, because the last thing I want is to have to take care of another sort of prospie problem or something. Urgh. So... that was basically my morning. Then I went back and did a lot of reading, and thinking and silly confused frustrated sort of stuff. I think I've got things sorted out now, though. Funny thing is, I realize now that if I had just kept myself shut up in my room, things never would have been sorted out. [livejournal.com profile] hisspit ended up coming over to drag me out to the grocery store around 4, even though I'd been napping. I effectively missed a big bit of complaining by Skirtpants, who was screaming at his parents in Chinese in the hallways, which would have made me super-miserable. As it was though, we ended up wandering Hyde Park looking for chocolate-covered espresso beans (dangerous stuff man, I had such a caffeine high last night I didn't get to bed until 3). Neither Starbucks had them, so we ended up checking random places, like this health food store that I'd never actually noticed before. They didn't have espresso beans (against coffee, but not chocolate!), but we did get these vegetable chips and this really strange (but not bad) green tea organic root beer. What a combination, hehe. We ended up finding them at Borders. Ah, bookstores, coffee shops, and health food stores. College, eh?

We didn't get back until almost six or something, when everyone else was going to Kikuya (this week's lesson has been how to write that in Japanese... Gamer-san has already learned all of Hiragana. Silly crazy good-at-memorizing person! I still beat him at vocabulary, though). Three of us ended up ordering in from Nathan's, which is... I'm sure I've tried to explain this place before. We'll just leave it that it's greasy American-type food made by.. er.. Jamaicans. Perhaps. But it's cheap and it's fast. And sometimes you need the greasy food, non? We played a bit of Soul Caliber and talked about random stuff until everyone got back, and then we ended up playing Smash Brothers for a bit, and once I discovered that Bowser could not only take a heck of a lot of damage, he can also chew on people, I was banned from playing him ever again. I think he's going to officially be my character. Skirtpants was trying to prove that he could play, and we ended up in this tiny level, none of us could tell where we were, I was chewing on random people, everyone was falling off, and I ended up laughing so hard I couldn't see anymore. After that we watched Star Trek. The 4th one.. Journey Home or something. Wow. How absolutely bizarre! It was great. Except that I could predict everything that was about to happen, including the whales, and the time travel, and... That wasn't over until midnightish, and I totally planned to go to bed. But we all ended up back in my room, when Gamer-san decided to come in and start speaking Japanese at us. It was great. Especially translating for him. I've just got to make sure he doesn't get so far ahead of me that I can't keep up with him. He'll dust me this summer, though. He's got books upon books, and while I'm home I won't have anyone to bounce things off of. Except my sister... who still laughs at my Japanese because I was trying to explain the accent to her and said something really silly. I forget what it was... it might have been ice cream. Beats me. She'd remember though, and laugh at me. And make me say it again.

So that was pretty much yesterday. Today I want to finish up most of my reading and I will start my Hum paper if it kills me because I am sick of leaving it until the last minute.

(holds up CPR card) Stop choking, stop choking!! LOL! I have to get certified this summer so I can work at the gym in Spring semester. Oh and vegetable chips are really gross. At least the ones I have had. Good luck with your paper!!

Re: : )

I'm totally carrying that card with me everywhere so I can prevent you guys from choking this summer. (-: We could probably all do it together, and freak random people out. We could be an army of... for Choking Protection

Re: : )

We could totally go to Pizza Hut or something and after we've finished eating, we could patrol all the tables for choking until they kicked us out. (-; Or watch little kids stare at us from the other side of the little window and have her parents glare at us like we're corrupting her or something.

How long do you think it would take for us to get kicked out of Pizza Hut?? I think it should be our first experiment when you get back!

I'll bring a stopwatch. It'll add to the atmosphere and surreality of the whole scene. Maybe we should have a camera crew too, and we can pretend it's a new reality show.
