Well, everyone has gone to Psi U to get drunk and whatnot. Gosh darn it why is everyone at MUNUC this weekend? I am so freaking bored! Maybe I can find something to read online. It's so hard to find decent reading material online, though... there's so much random crap that's either total... well... crap, or there's all that slash stuff out there that just isn't entertaining. Grr to the lowest common denomenator! I demand fanfiction writers on par with published authors! Because I am lazy and evil, but I do not control the world... yet.

OK, so here's something for my eternal embarassment (so naturally I have to post it here so everyone sees it). Track memo tonight...:

"Women's Track Team,

...[la la la]...

I left the meet today with really great feelings about this group and how you are coming together. Just 2 short years ago the Chicago women's track team was truly struggling. We were at the bottom of the conference and not having a lot of fun. Today we won yet another meet and again against some pretty darn good competition. Here's some performances that cracked the all-time Chicago top 10.

...[la la yay team! lala]...

What I saw that made this a GREAT day though was the following (the unsung hero's):
- Our women's B team 4 x 400 coming together to compete as hard as possible and win their section of the 4 x 400. It was great seeing the four of them celebrating after the race and that elevated our next relay. [Yay jumper's relay!]
...[more people with actual names that I don't want to go posting around online because that isn't fair]...
- [Me!] --- Most of you perhaps don't know [the person who is posting this in her journal because she is freak] as she is very soft spoken but PR'd today in two jumping events and works hard every day and that makes us better.

There are more things I'm missing but as I look at our roster I can see how everyone of you are contributing to making this a great team.

Congratulations of a very good day"

See! I make things better. Keep that in mind, world! I am always the "soft-spoken" "quiet" "shy" one. Somehow, I still fail to see how this is bad. Actually, at the meet today I was rather less quiet than usual. Yelling at people running, even. That happens when everyone around being happy and yelling too, though. Darn team spirit, ruining my reputation. Occasionally. Now, let's just hope they don't go trying to make me go to the meet next weekend, because I'll feel bad telling them no, wait, my sister's coming and I can't go even though this is the first away meet you are giving me a real chance to go to. I really should've told the coaches that I wouldn't be able to go, but I couldn't come up with a way to tell them that didn't either imply that I thought I was going, or sound bitter. So I'll wait and see what's going on. Normally I'd say that I probably wasn't going, but this weekend the girls and guys are going on two different days, so they might be taking more people or something. Thoroughly confusing situation, so I won't try to understand it too much. Maybe I can come up with a good way of bringing it up on Monday. Gosh darn my paranoia.

So... right... wow, it's midnight. I'm tired and bored, but I don't want to go to sleep yet. Because there's no use in going to sleep right now... You know what I need? I need a library... a public library, because all the good leisure-type books are checked out of the libraries here from the beginning of the quarter on. Sort of sad, really... I don't know if there are any public libraries around here, either. There is a big one downtown that maybe I could try to find tomorrow. Except there's no one around here that could go with me because they're all at MUNUC! Gosh darn them, spending the weekend downtown in an expensive hotel paid for by the university. This must be where all our tuition goes, since a lot of people are only in MUNUC for the hotel stay this weekend. Grrr.
