Really... I'm starving. What the heck, Chinese food place that all the actual Chinese people are so critical of... deliver our food now! Oh... whoa... that worked. Woo!

(Looong break where I eat my food and pretty much forget everything I was going to write about)

So, despite all the elements conspiring against me yesterday, today managed to be a pretty good day. Even though I only got 6 hours of sleep because slightly-tipsy people were in my room watching strange movies. Even though, when I got out of the shower, I stepped on a tiny piece of glass on the floor from when my roomie accidentally broke a bottle of makeup, and it bled profusely for ten minutes without stopping (and I had to pull the thing out with tweezers because it was in too deep to get with my fingers and you really don't want to hear this, do you?). And no one cared... because they were too busy being drunk. I was sort of annoyed... but there's nothing I can do about that now. And my foot only hurts a little bit. It was my right foot, which sort of made me weary of today. Shin splints and a freakin-bleedin' injury isn't good for jumping (Freakin-bleedin is now the word of the day). But by this morning I couldn't even really find where it was anymore, so that was a good sign. I also managed to drag myself out of bed and despite my own best logic, catch the bus a half-hour earlier than I actually needed to. I sat around a bit, did some reading for Hum, watched some of the volleyball girls come in and set up balloons and a table for us, covered in delicious sugary snacks. Didn't get to eat the sugary snacks until later though. Bah! Long jump started at 11, and went well. I wasn't feeling particularly springy, but I managed 4.34m, which isn't bad for right now. And another indoor PR for me (hooray for indoor PRs vs outdoor, and for the fact that I had no previous indoor experience). There was a lot of sitting around between long jump (which only took about 20 minutes) and high jump. High jump was amazing. The only reason I might stay on the track team next year is the group of girls we have jumping. There were ten people in the high jump... six of us were UofC, and we did our own mini-huddle and such, and we all cleared the first two heights (the whole massive positive energy thing is great), and did well after too, so basically 4 of 6 of us had PRs today. I cleared 4'7... which isn't all the impressive when you think about it... but then you think about it some more and realize that I really psyche myself out before I jump because I freak out whenever the bar's above about 4'4. I am officially three inches closer to being able to jump over [livejournal.com profile] becada422. Err... seven or so more to go. Drat. Oh well, I came awful close to 4'9, so maybe next time.

So, after the meet I went over to the Reynolds club and grabbed some Subway in case no one was ordering in tonight, even though I really wanted Chinese. Then I sat around and waited for the bus for about 45 minutes. It eventually showed up over twenty minutes late (pretty sure I missed the one at ten-til...). We soon found out exactly why it was ten minutes late, when the bus driver tried to turn right onto some random street. Thank goodness for the girl that said "Hey wait, shouldn't you turn left here?" Turns out the guy had no idea what the route was. At all. And was reading the wrong route map. Dear goodness (but at least the driver was really nice. We all helped him with the route after we figured out what was going on). We all got back safely. And when I got back to my room, BFG was ordering Chinese (woo!) so I had him get me some fried rice. This also means Subway for breakfast tomorrow. Hehehe. Oh well.

So... overall, quite a weird day. Things just worked out in the absolute oddest way possible. But that just makes thing more fun. I mean, if things just worked out in the end without any bizarre trouble to make it work out, what good would that be? Not that I want to step on sharp little shards of glass at about 1:30am ever again, though.

As a parting note... why are British authors so freakin-bleedin' good?!
