I can't believe it's already 9:30. It could be because so much of my day was occupied by this.

So, what started as an easy "I'll go get my hair cut and... do something else, maybe" day turned into "Oh well, my bus is rerouted a couple of blocks, I'll try to walk the length of Chicago!" The only reason I didn't walk all the way down to Roosevelt (the last spot I could've caught my bus) was that I got a call from a friend who'd just gone morel-picking, so I hopped my bus back to Hyde Park and had some mushrooms. So, it was only a little more than 4 miles, and I know I can do better, but for now, this is my new record for traversing Chicago on foot.
All in all, I consider today a success.
