Guys, I work in an office full of Republicans. It's... it's full of... Republicans. Honest! Someone today said "Yeah! Go McCain!" WITHOUT IRONY! Talk about culture shock for me! They were talking about Obama's supporters and referring to them as "those people."
I am never going to fit in at this office.
In other news, my boss still reminds me of T-Rex. (In that he stomps into the back room, rants about the most random of things, and then disappears. Today, we were treated to "Hey guys, did you ever notice how weird this company is? See, first they had this president named Abraham. And then they had Lincoln. Do you think they did that on purpose? Presidents Abraham and Lincoln? Isn't that weird?" It brings me joy to think of him like that. It makes the actual ranting and occasional anger easier to deal with.)
Also, I have a feeling that the girl who works next to me thinks I'm a lesbian, because I failed to give the proper response to "Isn't this guy hot?!" I always fail at that question.
And um... that's most of my day. I also had to buy more work clothes, because I was starting to feel like I had a uniform, or was in a slightly-more-ambitious-than-usual cartoon. Currently, I think about 2/7 of my tops are pink. This... is odd. Because 1/7 is green. Neither of those are colors I have worn more than about twice a month before this. But downtown is so grey... I feel the need to wear bright colors to make up for it, even if it is in conflict with the usual blacks, blues, and greys of my English major decorum.
