My retroactive horoscope for today:

Stay out of the kitchen. Everything you touch will go bad, and you will burn yourself. A lot.

Moral of the story: don't cook when achey and sick.

I got up this morning and there was nothing to take for lunch, so I subsisted today on bagels left over from our meeting this morning. By the time I got home, I was ready to eat something. I saw that my roommate had been busy in the kitchen because there was chocolate randomly on things, and some whipped cream in the fridge. These appear to be pretty much the only things in the kitchen that are still edible. I found the chicken I was thawing by the trail of ooze it had left all over the bottom of my fridge (I'm really, really glad it spared my beans and most of my greens). I cleaned that up and hoped that maybe it was the culprit of the awful rotten potato smell that was still lingering in the kitchen. I threw out my old potatoes a few days ago and replaced them with new ones, since they were beginning to sprout and get squishy. "I'll have curry!" I said to myself, and pulled out the new bag of potatoes. Aaaand voila, that was the source of the awful rotten potato smell. I managed to salvage enough for curry, thankfully. Then it turned out I made a full recipe accidentally, so I had to cut more veggies and thaw more chicken and I burned myself three or four times on the pan and I think everything fell on the floor at least once and oh man, I really can't cook today.

I'm so glad I don't have to function tomorrow. My usual reserves today were all drained, so I was rude and sarcastic to people at work, which got me teased an awful lot.

Soon I will have curry, though, so maybe that'll make things okay. As long as I don't manage to explode anything or set it on fire.

And I forgot to put the rice on. Brain, where have you gone?
