I've been walking around today with one of those random (possibly creepy) smiles. It's undoubtedly a result of me finally going nuts. Or the fact that this week is over and I don't have any midterms next week and I've got time to myself and plots are finally happening and my computer ought to be back by the end of next week, as will my paycheck and possibly my tuition refund so all at once I might just be no longer computerless and broke. And already I'm less overworked because that photo project is done. In fact, I think sometime today (after I do my reading for class, because I want to be particularly lazy tomorrow as well) I'll scan my prints and put them up, just for the heck of it. And then debate some more about whether or not I should switch to fiber paper. I just think it looks better... Slightly more expensive, but that shouldn't be a huge problem. Especially now that I've got the hang of printing things. (It's turned out to be rather fun, when you don't have to go eight hours straight at it.) And I've been toying with ideas for my portrait project, and I'm thinking (even though the theme or whatever will be misinterpreted) I'm just going to go out of my way to not be in the picture. Wherever you'd expect my reflection to be... I will not be there. And maybe I'll hide a tiny plastic ninja somewhere in the frame. I don't know. But hey, if it means I don't have to have more pictures of myself than strictly necessary, it'll be great. (And I guess when I go downtown Monday I'll try retaking my secretly-not-a-tourist pictures, in which I take pictures of people taking pictures of their own reflections on the Cloud Gate Bean. Probably unethical in some way, but you've got to expect that if you go within twenty feet of that thing, you're gonna be in other people's pictures anyway. And dude, the weddings. Not that I'm gonna take pictures of them, but [livejournal.com profile] sketchyheart and I counted like, six when we were there. Six!) Also, I can't wait to try out my new lens. It's so much more solid. And it goes all the way up to f22 (no longer will I be limited by f16!). Doesn't open up as far, but I suppose I could lug the old one around if I ever have need of f1.7, since that's about the only f-stop that functions anyway. But that'll only be if I'm feeling fancy and particularly against depth of field.
