I'm pretty sure today was the first time in a good three years that I've been in the stadium at my high school. (Okay, a bit less than three years, because I remember dropping by for a football game or so before I actually left for college.) And it was definitely the first time I've been anywhere near a graduation there that wasn't my own (the ones before were in the gym). And today I saw my freshmen graduate. And apparently ignored my former French teacher, because she was calling me by a name that wasn't mine. Then there was a lot of hugging and well-wishing and such, as is typical for graduations (after all the speech making and pomp and circumstance). I apparently am still numb from overworking yet, because it isn't as strange to me as I thought it would be for my freshman to have just graduated. This pretty much leaves just my little sister on the list of people I know in the high school, and after next year, there will probably only be a teacher or two there to remember me. Oh well! You leave or you don't, and I think I may have left to the point where coming back is just as much of a tourist activity as running off in Chicago isn't anymore. Weird.

And now, on to fandom... see, I was going to ramble about Doctor Who, which I got to see because I temporarily hijacked [livejournal.com profile] sketchyheart's computer tonight... but, though it was yay in all sorts of philosophical ways, what I was going to say pretty much boils down to "Hmm... are we suddenly exploring the 'fact' that the Doctor is half-human now or something?"... and I kind of am terribly distracted now by chapter 60. Because... wow. I don't think I'm going to say anything spoilery, because everything's going to be all wibbling and gaaahh, Arakawa-sensei how I love you and your characters. (P.S. Hughes? So many hugs in line for you. Like whoa.) Boo to anyone who might still be complaining about these flashback chapters. I'm loving how different people are. And how wonderful and human and... well, funny the weight the word "human" gets around here in this chapter, you know? Look, a theme! Humanity, and its position in the views of homunculi and Time Lords. Gah, can you imagine what'd happen if the Doctor ended up in Ishbal or something? He'd so explode. But, erm, not by Kimblee, of course, but because of the injustice. ... I am so shutting up right now.
