What a day. Maybe, perhaps, sometime tomorrow I'll sit down and write it all down properly, with details and figurative language and everything. Until then... it's midnight, which is one in the morning to me anyway, and I have class in the morning in places I don't even know about yet. (Or at least, I don't know which places I need to be in tomorrow.)
At least, in the end, I was very, very lucky to get my luggage fast enough to catch the shuttle back, because there wasn't going to be another one, and then I would have been stuck at O'Hare or had to risk public transportation. Hooray for finding bits of luck where I need it! (I got outside about two minutes before the shuttle. Gah.)
In summary: Hooray for shuttles I forgot existed, even if they cost me all the cash I had on hand because they couldn't take credit cards after hours. Hooray for wireless in airports, for saving my sanity even though it was not free. Hooray for a pilot with an intact sense of humour, who also let us know that he was just as frustrated as us at being stuck in Cleveland forever. Hooray for phone tag, concluding on an airplane while we sat waiting to leave! And hooray for people not holding it too much against me that I ditched everyone on New Years. I still feel bad about that.
And now... I go to sleep. Good night, Monday... I am so done with you! Good night, world... I'll see you tomorrow, and hopefully you'll have things worked out for me a little better. Please?
