I need to stop staying up so late. And it's always been writing lately. It looks like tomorrow's going to be entirely for working on my Darwin paper. Some of the reading is so dry. I think I'll do better on it after eight hours of sleep, anyway. At least I'm writing again (even if it's not academic at all tonight).
I've had to figure out the weirdest things tonight. Most of them remain unanswered, so if you happen to know, you're free to randomly comment.
1) What darts were made of in the 1920s.
2) The actual rules of darts as it was likely to be played in pubs in the 1920s.
3) The temperature at which feathers are likely to catch fire/start smoking.
4) How much the temperature of the air affects flight.
4a) How much sudden changes in air temperature (very hot to room temp) affects flight.
5) I just realized that the hilts of Hughes' knives probably aren't plastic. I've been seeing them as plastic forever. But chances are there isn't plastic in Amestris... whoa. So...
5a) What the hilt of a throwing knife would be made of if it wasn't plastic.
Why do I put so much random research into a completely out-of-the-blue plotbunny? Oh, and how come I can't write anything without at least one weird line? Right now "It was, at the least, quite uncomfortable to have a superheated pocket." sort of takes the cake.
