Oh.my.goodness. I don't recall ever being this physically tired before. Ever. I seem to have overlooked a few simple facts in my plans for this quarter. Namely 1) It takes energy to pedal a bicycle. A lot of it. 2) You have to ride fast on roads. 3) You also need energy to swim. And, a contingency I will realize somewhere around four today... 4) It also takes energy to run. Especially when it's track practice. I forsee a fifth problem too, which is the deman for lots of food and such. Something I will not get a whole lot of from the dining hall on account of being repulsed by a lot of it. They did have Italian dressing again today... which would have been nice if they'd actually had Italian dressing in the container, rather than just a sign and an empty... dressing-holder thing.

Other than that... this quarter's going to be fun. I'm either going to be in wonderful shape by the end, or die trying to get through this. Ack! I can't imagine how sore my arms are going to be tomorrow. I don't want to think about it. I was so totally unprepared to swim 500 yards today, especially when 8 laps of it had to be the crawl stroke. Argh! After the fifth I was all tired and going crooked and stuff, and the instructor actually asked me if I was OK. I was so embarassed. But I can take solace in the fact that the people in the class that did better than me were on the swim team, and there are some people who did worse.

Civ looks like it'll be fine. The M-W classes are just lecture, and the prof sort of reminds me of my History teacher from freshman and sophomore year. Plus he doesn't mind if we get in a little late, it seems... which I will be pretty often. I was three minutes late today, even with my friend's bicycle, so I'd better hope my mom's able to send mine. The books for class were expensive, though... almost half of what I had to pay. And the sad part is it was only three books, and I have about ten more for my other classes. Ohhh, my reading list for Science Fiction looks like so much fun. It should be good, too... the class is actually full, which is a feat since full means 60 people. I probably don't have to worry too much about a participation grade in that one.

It's hot in here... it's not supposed to be hot again today. But I'm not going to complain too much, because at least it's pretty out. I get so happy when there are more than two days in a row that are sunny. Heh, Youngstown'll do that to ya.
