I love this library. So pretty, and not full of strange smelly people that stare at you when you walk by and make you uncomfortable. It seems like every library here has a different sort of personality. The Reg is like the traditional college library and such, Crerar is apparently full of the die-hard science and math people that demand absolute silence (I can't imagine the stares my clinking and rustling would get in there, so I've just generally avoided it), the library in Eckhart is either morbidly quiet, or full of people talking far too loudly (it's in the math building, you can't explain anything having to do with math)... and then there's Harper. Which is all laid back and stuff (mostly because all people usually come here to do is sleep). I can be unobtrusive to sleeping people. Even while typing. (This computer is awesome... it's already been like, fifteen minutes and there's still three hours left on the battery. Three hours! On a pentium 4! Woo, computer!)

So, I was walking over here from Ratner, which is about two blocks away. It's really, really cold. I thought I had dried my hair enough... then, as I was walking past Cobb I adjusted my hat and realized that my hair was not only frozen to the hat, but that the ends of it were frozen into rather strange stiff spikes. Let this be a lesson to us all... we are not meant to live in Chicago in the winter. EVER. Or maybe the real lesson is we're not supposed to swim in Chicago in the winter and then go outside and walk around while our hair's still wet. But I'll go with the former. Just because.

Well, I'd better get to what I'm here to do, which is to aimlessly try to work on my calc, and maybe finish my chapters of Nietzsche (I don't have my book readily available this time, so that's probably spelled wrong)... At least I figured out how to get a locker in Ratner so I didn't have to be so terribly paranoid about having my computer stolen while I was swimming.

So.. you know, I came in to Harper after track and sat around... read a bit of Nietschze-Neitszche-Niestchze... I give up. That German guy who wrote those books that you must have concentration of steel to be able to understand. Anyway, I read a bit of that, and then I went to dinner because I was unusually hungry. I sat around BJ for a bit, and then came back here. Now I'm cold. Verily, verily cold. I don't know why it is cold in here, but it is. And I have to pee. Bad. Also, I intended to do my calc... but then I realized that I didn't have the right notebook with me (darnit), so I just read the chapters that I didn't understand over again. I think I sort of understand them now. I'm going to need the problem session, though. I don't know how I did this last quarter... I think it was because I disliked all my other classes so much. I have to be really, really careful not to slack off in calc now. I'll be very upset with myself if I end up with something ridiculous like a B. And that sounds silly, but I definitely shouldn't get a B in calc 152 here... since I managed an A- last quarter, and since it's still all review. I figure since I understand about 75% of the material, I should be able to get about an 80% on the test (if not more), which, with the curve, should put me at about an A-. I'd really like to be able to get an A this quarter, though. That's my goal. I should be able to get one in Bio... Hum if I'm good, and drama should be pretty easy. So the real hinging subject is Calc.

Eep... rambling. Bad me, bad. I'd better start walking, because though it's not long, it's a very cold walk to Eckhart in this weather. I am so ready for it to be spring!!
Because I'm the Eeevil Wizard Sort... )

So, you'd think I would've accomplished more today. But no. No I didn't. I need to finish my calc before midnight, and write a response paper for Hum. Gosh darn this university! I need more time! That's it... I've already figured out tonight that there is no way on earth I could ever finish a physics major here in four years (STUPID MATH DEPARTMENT!). Forget it. I'm just building a time machine. That's got to be the solution.
