Well, this entry is a bit overdue. So it's going to be freaking long provided I don't get interrupted, and this headache doesn't get any worse (I imagine I'm coming down with something, considering the myriad diseases I've been exposed to at work and such. Why... why do you still come to work when you have the flu and strep throat!? Gah! I know... I know.. it's because she'll get fired if she doesn't come in, becaus the managers have NO MERCY. If I get something, this will not be a happy end to my vacation, considering last time I had strep (and I catch it easily) I didn't get a sore throat, but had a fever of 103 that I pretty much ignored until I was bedridden for two whole days. Eep!). Err... wow, that was like an entire paragraph is parenthesis. And now I can't really remember what I was going for when I started. So I'll go from the beginning of yesterday, shortly after phone tag...
I sat around online doing nothing (err, I think I was reading Dave Berry actually, which rather nearly made me late picking everyone up), then left home to pick up
llamaninja and
sketchyheart to go see Return of the King... which is, by the way, much better the second time. Plus this time (as was mentioned before) there were tiny children behind us providing very lovely commentary.. such as "ewwww!" and "pippin pippin pippin!" and "::THUD:: What the heck? Oof" (or something of that sort). Afterwards, there was much discussion of bathroom exploration in New Zealand and singing of the Badger Song. Then we met everyone (and even ran into some unexpected people) at Pizza Hut, where we laughed and ate pizza, and learned that having CPR training causes people to stop choking. And that purses with Mudd on them are immature.
Then we went down into downtown ruralness USA for ice cream served by the band, where we debated whether or not I had been voted out of NHS, and then some of us migrated over to sketchyheart's for some DDR-ing... which I mentioned last night. Oh how I miss my roomie's pads! I did horribly, as far as I was concerned, because I kept slipping off the pads. Also, I think I was still distracted by my bit of a freudian slip at the Pizza Hut, where I somehow managed to call college "home." I do believe that one is going to require a bit of introspection on my part. Something I do far too much of far too often. Then, after playing a bit on sketchy's pc-tablet thing (also, creating images so artisticly horrible they could possibly be used to blackmail me in the future), I had to drive llamaninja home (and duely felt guilty and irresponsible for keeping her out so late).
I finally got to sleep at about oneish, and had a rather strange dream that keeps getting all mixed up with the night before's because they looked essentially the same (in the same way that Xenogears and Final Fantasy look the same because they were both made by Square... errr... dorky analogies! Woo!). In one, I was wandering around these hallways with lots of people from work and people kept going "Hey, he's got a crush on you!" He being this one guy from work (of course) that dressed up for LotR and such. And... there are some bits of this one dream I had forever ago (or maybe it wasn't) that I'm pretty sure I wrote about on here before... And the one part from last night's that sticks in my mind is being in this strange high school type building and ending up behind this strange screen in the middle of a band concert, and the director telling me to push play on the CD player because the band was too tired to play Pomp and Circumstance, and everyone in this giant auditorium got up and started walking out. I know there was a ton more to it too, but I just can't remember any of it now. And that is rather annoying.
So, today I had to get up and go to work. Which was evilness. Then one of the other concession girls had to go home (with very good reason.. I hope her sister's baby is OK!) so I was just left with the walking contagion. Then we ran out of gummi bears. And then we ran out of bags. And kids meal boxes. And tubs. And extra large cups. And then the popper broke. And people were in a hurry and with small children and/or old. And things just wouldn't slow down. And I found out that I have to work tomorrow night rather than during the day. But that means shopping tomorrow. Except I forgot to pick up my paycheck before I left, because I was just so tired. Not that I'll spend my own money, but it's good to have around for show.
