.....WHAT. WHAT. WHAT WHAT.

[identity profile] evilhippo.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The worst part is that's the first page I opened it to... omg. It's like... hundreds of pages. Written like that. Omg.

A part of me wants to go back and buy it... but the other 99% of me knows I wouldn't survive more than three pages of that. It made me forget what I'd gone there for for nearly fifteen minutes! I had to wander around in a daze!

DDDD:

That really can only be read out loud. Kind of like Tell Me You Love me, Junie Moon.

[identity profile] verie.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That's... amazing. I have to get someone to buy it so my friends can do retarded read-alouds. That completely out-does the FMA novels for hilarity to listen to someone read.

[identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com 2006-06-29 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. My goodness.

Is it weird that that sounded like porn in places?

[identity profile] evilhippo.livejournal.com 2006-06-29 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
... Yes, yes it is weird. But with word-choice like that, I'm not surprised. I should've made note of the author so I could figure out what on earth else they'd written. Perhaps it was a porn author. It'd certainly fit in with the whole theme of WTF surrounding that movie... ^_^

[identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com 2006-06-29 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehe, yeah. I was listening to you reading it, and thinking, "Um, this sounds like that cheesy romance novel we found on a camping trip once and read out loud... Only this is worse."
I'm so horribly fascinated by the whole premise.

[identity profile] evilhippo.livejournal.com 2006-06-29 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Up until now, I think my favourite book to pick up in a bookstore and read aloud to people was this one collection of Jewel's poetry (and, of course, those random trashy romances). I think the Snakes on a Plane novel has now surpassed all of those... one way or another, I very much fear it's going to end up belonging to me so I can read it to people at random.

I think they've captured the whole this-idea-is-a-trainwreck premise more perfectly than anyone ever has.

[identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com 2006-06-29 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
How is Jewel's poetry? I remember reading the CD jacket when I was eleven and being like, "...this is weeeeeird. She talks about boobies!" Because I was such a cultured kid. But yeah, there's nothing like a trashy-romance readaloud. I agree, tho. Literary and cinematic trainwreck. How many more genres will become this monstrosity's bitch?!!?

It's beautiful. Nothing is sacred.

From what I remember, it was odd, in a sort of bad way, and not much like her songs at all.

I'm waiting to find out which song won the get-featured-in-the-movie contest. It's very likely that will add music to the genre-trainwreckery. Not much else is left...

[identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com 2006-06-29 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I remember her poetry as being sorta funkyish. I really really love the Pieces of You album, though. Cept the title song and Adrian, both of which are like, godiekthxbai. My friend from elementary school's mom used to babysit her, ironically.

They actually had that as a contest? ...Woah. And yeah, they're really blazing through the genres. What's next? The Sam L. Jackson Badassmuthafucka My Little Pony?

Omg! With that printed on its butt? That would be awesome. I want one.

[identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com 2006-06-29 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehe, me tooo!!! Either BAMF on it's butt, or the Snakes on a Plane emblem, lol.
