The New Apartment
I settled down today and (pretty much) finished moving in. And you know what that means!
This is one of my four closets (four!). As you can see, I'm having trouble using it (and I haven't done laundry in a week). That empty space will, hopefully, eventually be filled by more shelves (for all the books I haven't put away yet), or a proper dresser. Also, I have room for my bike in here, and I'm totally not going to trip over it, even in the morning. How awesome is that? I probably should've taken the two seconds to make that clothes basket look a little less messy, but actually the rest of my apartment is clean enough that I don't care.
And here is the other side of the room, containing my bed and a wall with great potential for shadow puppets. That fruit bowl has already had more use than that TV will probably all year. I was worried about setting up my plant light in here, but it makes SUCH a difference to have something akin to sunlight. If I opened my blinds, all you'd see would be a small alley and the brick wall next door. The view out the back into the garden is much, much nicer (and apparently reminded my friend of Italy), but it's dark out, so no pictures of that yet. The worst part of this picture, though, is the stack of white papers just under the dragon on the couch there. That's work I brought home with me so I wouldn't have to go in this weekend. Boo!
And finally...
Part of my kitchen. It's blurry because I had to stand in the middle of my living room to take it without including all the dishes in my sink at the moment. Before I moved my other two plants into the living room, that shelf next to the stove was much more populated. Soon, it'll be full of spices and it'll be a happy kitchen again. I have no idea what I'm going to do with my money tree, though. It's gotten way too big to go anywhere other than that table. And that table is only there because I didn't know where to put it, and then it turned into extra counter space. I also have a big pantry just off the kitchen, full of shelves and my refrigerator. My fourth closet is in the hallway on the other side of the living room, along with my bathroom. And that, my friends, is my tiny but cozy apartment. I'm pretty proud of it right now. I do need to do something about my walls, though. And clean up the rest of my kitchen and make it pretty so I can start having people over or something.
