Writing is hard

Three o'clock in the morning. Reading Scrubs scripts because NBC isn't kind enough to put episodes online. Finding that my bizarre memory (which can summon sections of episodes of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego that I must've seen thirteen years ago on random, usually Rockapella-related whims) is good at filling in random details (if only I could remember that map of Africa). Also, finding myself afflicted with a serious, ever-increasing case of writer jealousy. Ouch. It's so hard to find a balance between inspiration and "Oh gods, I can't do stuff like this." Someday, I might find it.

On the plus side, my random Hospital Renovations idea, which ends with cyborgs, is seeming less wtf and more plausible than I thought it'd be. (Those cyborgs have needed a home since they left the beta version of my BA idea.) It's also part of a dare saying I couldn't cross random sci-fi shows legitimately with sitcoms. Pah! And I may have found a useful application for all the practical joke ideas I can't use with a clean conscience. Thank goodness for a show I'm mostly familiar with that also has a more visual sense of humor than, say, Frasier.

I also wonder if it's as obvious to everyone else how much random things influence my writing style to an almost disturbing extent, or if it's like the (recently confirmed, but perhaps no less imagined) inexplicably partially-British accent I am convinced I have (it's in the vowels), but which no one else seems to hear.
